Garden Blogger Bloom Day: April 2008

The daffodils must have known it was the 15th (i.e. Garden Bloggers Bloom Day), because when I came home from work they were all a-bloomin'.This is only my 4th spring in this house, but from what I've documented, this is the LATEST that the daffodils have bloomed. Last year they were in bloom on March 26th. Quite a change when April showers have turned into April frosts!

Thanks for visiting and saying hello!
Isn't it wonderful to see the daffodils opening? It seems so long since I've been able to garden. Sure feels good to get out there!
Reading about you saving the Beautyberry made me smile. I 'save' almost everthing too. Sometimes it's a hard habit to live with, especially when I'm thinning out perennials. I need someone to pass them on to :)
Pam at 'Digging' in Austin, TX has Beautyberry. She may have some advise for you.

Have your daffodils just begun? I miss mine - they are done except for a couple stragglers. It looks like your garden is just beginning to wake up.
Thanks for coming by to check out my site!

Nice timing on the daffodil, Rosemarie - and how interesting that you're keeping track of bloomtimes on the daffodils. MSS of Zanthan would approve ;-]

Happy Blooming Day,

April 2008 will be known as the late spring, whereas last year it was miserably cold and all the flowers froze. What a difference year to year.

Thanks for joining in again for bloom day!

I'm glad your Daffodils were cooperative, mine weren't. They didn't open until the 16th. I think this is the latest for things to be doing their thing. Are you going to the Morton Arboretum on April 25 for the plant sale? If so, do you want to meet up? I've got to pick up my pre-ordered things & maybe take a peek inside the tent.
