The Pagoda Dogwood: One Year

I planted the Pagoda Dogwood in my backyard last May. It was the first tree I ever planted. My how they grow up so fast.

Despite being chomped on by a tall bunny in the springtime ... and then being chomped on by bugs in June (bollweevils is what they look like to me), it's managed to remain alive and develop the horizontal shaping that these are known for.

No way!! That is so not fair, yours looks so much bigger than mine. Mine seems to be growing more horizontally than vertically. I think the chomping helped yours to be more upright. Excuse me while I head out to the garden to cut mine back.

I've held off getting one because I thought they grew slowly. Maybe it's time to buy one! What kind of soil is it in? Lots of shade, part shade?
